HAND SCRAPED WOOD FLOORS KEEP TRADITIONS ALIVE

An Authentic Aged Look

Craftsmanship is alive and kicking and thank goodness, you can still find things done by hand. As you can see, I love keeping traditions alive. Hand scraped wood flooring is made of wood that has been intentionally changed, by hand, to look old and worn. Amish craftsmen are renowned for producing this style of flooring. They scrape, plane, indent, beat up and add texture to the wood to give it an authentic rustic feel. Each plank is individually treated. If you are looking to replace a wood floor in a heritage home in Pasadena, a hand scraped wood floor may be a perfect fit.

Since hand scraped wood flooring is produced by artisans, you can expect to pay a high price for it. You therefore want to make sure that it really has been created by craftsmen and not recreated in a factory. Not that there is anything wrong with industrialized distressing. Just make sure you get what you are paying for.
