PASADENA PAINTING CONTRACTORS RECOMMEND PAINTCARE

Full Paint Cans Please

Your painting project is finished. Your Pasadena painting contractor has done a great job, paint clean up is done and you are ready to enjoy your freshly painted space. You have kept some paint for later touch ups but you also have some full paint cans that you do not want. You can offer them to your painting contractor or painter but if he does not want them, take the full paint cans to your local PaintCare recycling center.

WHAT IS PAINTCARE?

PaintCare is a non-profit organization established by the American Coatings Association to implement Paint Stewardship Programs on behalf of the paint manufacturers in states that pass paint stewardship laws. California was the second state in the country to implement this paint recycling program and has almost 500 paint collection sites across the state.

PASADENA PAINTCARE LOCATIONS

These sites are at paint retailers (paint, hardware, and home improvement stores) that have volunteered to take back paint and they are available to any household and business in California. These stores accept paint whenever they are open for business.    www.paintcare.org

The PaintCare collection sites for Pasadena are:

Orchard Supply Hardware 3425 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

Orchard Supply Hardware 452 Fair Oaks Ave S, Pasadena

Dunn-Edwards 3897 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

Sherwin-Williams 3262 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

Vista Paint 3341 E Colorado Blvd Pasadena

Before taking your paint to any drop-off site, be sure to call to check business hours and to make sure they can accept the types and amount of paint you would like to recycle.

WHAT DOES PAINTCARE ACCEPT?

PaintCare sites accept house paint and primers, stains, sealers, and clear coatings.

The painting products must be in containers that are no larger than 5 gallons in size. Paint must be in its original container and the container must have a label and a secured lid. Centers will not accept open or leaking paint cans. PaintCare centers do not accept empty paint cans.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU TAKE TO PAINTCARE?

PaintCare sites have limits on how much paint they can accept, but they all take at least 5 gallons of paint per visit; some sites take more. It’s always best to call the site before taking your paint to ask if they have enough space to accept the amount of paint you would like to recycle.
