PAINTING GRIDS ARE LIKE GOLD: A MUST FOR PAINTING CONTRACTORS

Less Time, Less Effort

Painting professionals and painting contractors know that time is money. They know every painting trick there is for producing an excellent job in the shortest amount of time. Most DIY painters tend to not consider the time painting takes them or consider which tools would help speed up the process.

GRIDS ARE GOLD

One essential that painters and painting contractors would not be without is the humble paint grid. You will not see painting contractors using a roller and tray. This is strictly for amateurs. Professional painters prefer a 5 gallon paint bucket with a grid to help with rolling.

The metal grid or screen attaches to the inside of the bucket is used to remove the excess paint from the roller. The painter uses the same motion as with a roller tray, but pushes the roller down against the grid and the excess paint squeezes back into the bucket. The grid ensures the right amount of paint is on the roller as the grid works the paint into the nap.

GRID SIZES

Roller grids are available in several sizes to fit most plastic buckets. These sizes correspond to the size of your roller frame.

  • 4-inch grids are perfect for small 1 gallon cut-in buckets and small trim rollers.
  • 6-inch grids work best in a 2-gallon plastic paint bucket.
  • 9-inch grids are designed for 5-gallon buckets.

BUILT IN GRIDS

Paint roller buckets are available with built-in grids. You are most likely to find them in a 4 gallon size for a typical 9 inch roller, and large 20 inch buckets for extra large roller frames.

WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD

A paint grid will cost you about………..wait for it ………….all of about $5. Your best painting investment yet.
