WHAT IS WATERSENSE?

Saving Water Makes Sense

When planning and designing your bathroom renovation or remodel, you can save yourself money down the road and help the environment by choosing water saving products. The WaterSense label can help guide you on the the most energy efficient options.

EPA PROGRAM

WaterSense is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program designed to encourage water efficiency in the United States through the use of a special label on consumer products. It was launched in June 2006.

WATERSENSE LABEL

The WaterSense label is used to make it easy for the public to distinguish products that are water efficient. The label is used on all sorts of products such as toilets, faucets and showerheads and shows that they have been independently certified to meet rigorous criteria for both performance and efficiency.

The WaterSense label tells you that the products:

  • Perform as well or better than their less efficient counterparts
  • Are 20 percent more water efficient than average products in that category
  • Realize water savings on a national level
  • Provide measurable water savings results
  • Achieve water efficiency through several technology options
  • Obtain independent, third-party certification

Going green is the best and most important bathroom design idea and we hope that kitchen and bathroom contractors and interior designers will encourage clients to select eco friendly appliances and products. Cut down water usage, reduce your bill and help the environment. It’s a win-win situation.
