SAFEST WAY TO DECORATE THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Don’t Take Risks

The minute the clocks go back, twinkling outdoor lights are so welcoming. Nothing heralds the festive season more than an array of colored lights exuding warmth and good cheer. Getting those lights onto a double story house can be quite a performance and also dangerous.

LEAVE THE LADDERS

Contractors, lighting contractors, painters and handyman are very used to using ladders. They feel comfortable and confident. Most people only use a ladder occasionally to change a light bulb or get the Christmas decorations down from the loft. To use a very high ladder, once a year, to string lights can be very costly.

CRASH!

Last year a friend’s husband was doing just that when the children heard a loud crash and a scream. To their horror, Dad was lying motionless on the ground. He ended up needing 6 months off work to recover and the family’s Christmas was a rather sad one, spent going to and from the hospital.

CALL A CONTRACTOR

I live in a single story home so I can put up most of my outdoor lights with ho ladder at all, and even then only have to go up two steps. Don’t take risks. The holiday season is both enjoyable  and stressful as people cram in shopping and decorating and cooking and partying and usually get less sleep.  Call a handyman or lighting contractor or Pasadena painting contractor to put up your lights. Compare the cost of an expert putting up your lights with steep medical bills. No contest.

POINT A PROJECTOR

Alternatively you can beam colorful lights and images onto your house with a projector. Instant Christmas without any work. All you do is spike the light into the  ground, plug it into an outdoor extension cord, turn it on and voila. You can have stars, snow or Santa and all the reindeer  scampering across your house. You can pay anything from $20 up to $300 depending on colors and how much customization you want.

USE INDOORS

You can also use these projectors indoors to create very cool and unusual Christmas decor indoors They lights can be stationary, blinking or moving. I have just trained my cats not to go near the tree. If I put these lights inside, they will go crazy!
